Papierkorb » Why don't deleted msgs no longer go to TRASH, they disappear?

Hello,

I have a Trash folder and all Deleted messages used to go there. Just noticed that the trash file counts (read and unread) have not been changing because, Deleted messages disappear. Search does not find them, a newly loaded Extension "Recover Deleted Messages 0.4" does not find them. 'Control Z' and the Edit tab's 'Undo Delete Message' do work, if I use them immediately. My email account is through Gmail. The Server is 'imap googlemail com' and has not changed for years. I have not changed any settings in my Thunderbird world. The only changes in my email world, that I am aware of, are the Updates from Mozilla. I have a whole bunch of Local folders including their own Trash folder. Everything in the local world seems to function properly. i normally do not log directly into gmail.because of this problem, i did. seems the problem described above exists in gmail. and for more confusion to me, in gmail i have two trash folders.one is "imap trash" which is what i see in tbird. the other is "trash" and it has all my missing delated emails and i do not see this one in tbird. maybe something in gmailhas changed? i am tired and as a result of what I found in the Gmail direct login, I am confused and have to stop for now.
