So, like usual I encounter a problem that it seems nobody has dealt with before or at least not that I could find. I'll get right to the problem my secondary hard drive (Which I haven't backed up in 2 weeks) has died. AT first the clicking noises it made sounded like the click of death but I didn't post. I opened the drive to move the arm off the disk in hope that I would be able to get it to work long enough to image it however, upon opening I found the arm where it should be and the disk unscratched. I moved the arm back a bit more in worry that it was still in the wrong spot then closed the drive and plugged it in. No beans. In fear that I moved the arm to far I opened it again and found it had moved itself back to it's original point of rest.
Now, I am worried here that I could lose some important stuff if I can't this to work. I don't want to send it to data recovery because I would also have to send my new drive and Christ it is expensive (The recovery not the new drive). I haven't tried the freezer method yet and I am willing just wanted to check here first.
I am going to provide a explanation of the noise. Every second or so there is a brief beep followed by a much softer click. I pretty sure that this is the arm but I am no expert so I can't confirm. This may very well be a different form of the click of death but from what I have seen the click is a much longer buzzing noise and most data is still recoverable or at least the drive is recognized.

Should I try the freezer method?
