I have been researching this for a couple of hours trying to find an resolution without success, so felt it would be useful to ask a question specific to my situation.
I run a network with Windows 7 Pro clients and 5 network printers on Windows 2012 R2 Server (however the server element probably isn't important as I think it is the client spooling which is taking so long).
Whenever printing anything more than pure text it takes a huge amount of time for the client to spool. The majority of PCs are 4GB RAM with 32 Bit Windows 7 Pro, but even my admin PC with 8GB RAM and 64 bit takes a huge amount of time for any word documents/PDFs/images etc.
Staff are becoming increasingly irritated by this, and rightly so. The fact it still takes a huge amount of time on my more powerful PC makes me wonder if there is anything I can do to greatly speed up the client spooling? Or there is a setting causing this? Even 8 page PDFs can take 10 minutes.
